An update, FINALLY!

I've graduated from college, wow, I wasn't sure when the day would come but after this super busy, but great semester of student teaching, I'm happy to be getting back to doing something that I love - CROCHETING! The following is a list of WIP (works in progress) I plan to finish very, very soon now that I actually have the time.

  • Grandpa's lapghan (80% done)
  • Cupcake kitty (50% done)
  • Bender from futurama (2% done)
  • Mustard yellow beanie (10% done)
  • "It's all business" clutch (5% done)
  • Bunny Slippers (finished, but I'm remaking with better yarn and trying to make a bigger size)
  • Mr.Boogie (50% done)
  • EVERYTHING ON MY RAVELRY QUEUE!
Everything is really in no particular order, except Grandpa's lapghan needs to get done ASAP. I need to also embroider some little patch on there with his name since his nursing home likes to steal his stuff :/ no bueno.

More updates soon, with pictures, yay!

Etsy shop and knitting!

It's been a week, and I've actually been able to get a somewhat decent amount of crafty time in. First crafty thing is I've actually listed an item in my etsy shop! Check out my listing here! I only listed one thing, but I'll have 2 more things to list soon, and hopefully after that more.

My next thing is my knitting, that's actually getting my better. I've gone from "wtf did i do here" to "oh i messed up, let me go back and fix this" - I actually understand what I'm doing now; I'm rather proud of myself! I started making a wash/drying cloth thing with some purling, but I got bored so I decided since I'm really into monogram R's to put an R!

I made an R on excel so I could keep track...
Here are my progress pics! That's the full thing and then a close up of the R. I'm actually quite proud of myself ^^! I'm going to finish up with about 20 more rows of purl then end with a 5 row knit border, then around the edges I'm going to crochet a nice border, Hopefully the ending product is really nice.

That's about it in crafty land. Now it's bed time, because I'm old and have to get up for work in the morning :(

it's true...

I am trying to stay sane one skein at a time. Fiber arts has become a really big part of my life. I originally started crocheting just to make a present for a friend. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did but after that first granny square I just couldn't stop! I'm glad I've found a hobby outside of music related things to have because I don't want to get burnt out on something that's become my life, and this is helping me do that <3

aaaaand luckily I've met some friends who enjoy it as much as I do (or just crafty stuff in general). Hopefully that's you out there reading this right now, and if not then welcome to my craft blog! I'll hopefully get some stuff up to show soon. I've got a lot of UFOs that need to be done and a terrible quality webcam to take pics with so that will hopefully encourage me to keep track of everything.

I've recently started student teaching, and with that I know I'm going to be super busy, but I know there are going to be days where I'll just NEED to get my hands on some yarn and a hook/needles and stitch away my stress!
